Frequently asked question
Where/How Can I Store my Herbal Blends?
Keep your loose leaf blends dry and away from excess moisture. Dampness and humidity can dramatically reduce the herbs lifespan, and could even cause mold to form.
Best place to store your package is in a dark, cool and dry place in your kitchen; away from any sunlight and/or appliances that may cause heat and or moisture to trap inside of the cabinetry or drawer.
Our blends are sealed in a pouch, make sure that there is as little air as possible when you close the pouch. If you have a vacuum sealer, vacuum-seal your pouch to have the longest shelf life.
What is the shelf life for herbs?
If herbs and roots are kept as we have suggested the shelf life will be as follows:
Whole dried herbs, spices leaves and flowers will keep for 1 - 2 years.
Seeds will keep 2 - 3 years and whole roots will keep for 3 years.
Ground spices and herb leaves keep 1 year.
Ground roots will keep for 2 years.
*Our capsules blends are packed with a specific date of expiration on packaging at time of purchase.
How do I prepare the blends?
Blends can be prepared in two distinctive ways, enjoyed either warm or cold.
First as an infusion, where the loose leaf will steep in hot water for a minimum of 3 hours.
Secondly as a tisane, where a small amount of the blend is steeped for about 15-20 minutes and enjoyed warm.
